The town of Bad Nauheim is known throughout Germany for its outstanding Art Nouveau complexes and the Trinkkuranlage is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful of these. Top-class concerts are regularly held in the listed complex. Between the horseshoe-shaped colonnades, there is not only an orchestra shell, but also the spa fountain temple with its splashing fountains. Behind it rises the drinking hall, which is architecturally based on an ancient thermal bath. In its center is the gilded spring bar.

Hermann Cohen's major work "Religion of Reason in the Sources of Judaism" (1918) is the most influential work of Jewish religious philosophy in the 20th century. On the one hand, Cohen uses Jewish sources, the Hebrew Bible and rabbinical literature, to philosophically reflect on the reciprocal relationship between God and man; on the other hand, this reciprocal relationship is also always reflected in interpersonal relationships and in Cohen's philosophical anthropology: the individual discovers his ego in sin, he discovers his fellow man in compassion and his neighbor in the stranger of charity. In the end, Cohen's philosophy culminates in a messianism that is realized in peace among nations and ethical socialism. Prof. Dr. Christoph Schulte from the University of Potsdam will speak on the topic "Hermann Cohen: Man as the counterpart of God and his fellow man in the sources of Judaism".
