Bäppi reads: The life of Brian - in the imperial palace franconofurd at the cathedral - 2for1-tickets
From July to August 2025, the fourth "franconofurd Summer" event series, initiated by the Archaeological Museum and the Friends of the Archaeological Museum, will take place in the middle of the oldest preserved building remains in Frankfurt, the former archaeological garden between the cathedral and the Römer, with readings, concerts and discussion panels.
The Life of Brian (original title: Monty Python's Life of Brian) is a comedy by the British comedy group Monty Python from 1979. The naive and inconspicuous Brian, born at the same time as Jesus, is worshipped as the Messiah against his will due to misunderstandings. Because he campaigns against the Roman occupiers, he ultimately meets his end in a mass crucifixion.
The satire targets the dogmatism of religious and political groups. Sharp protests at its publication and performance boycotts and bans in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom and Norway further fanned the flames of controversy surrounding freedom of expression and blasphemy. It could hardly be more topical! A feast for the laugh muscles entertainingly read by Thomas Bäppler-Wolf alias Bäppi
