Die Dramatische Bühne

This summer, the Dramatische Bühne is presenting plays from over 30 years of open-air festivals - from "Nosferatu" to "Die Nibelungen - Ritter der Kokosnuss". The vision is a revival of the ludicrous, foolhardy theatrical dream as it has been dreamed since Shakespeare's time: Stories full of silliness and profundity at the same time, rich in costume, scenery and (lazy) theatrical magic, the splendor and wretchedness of comedy and sleaze theater, endearingly old-fashioned, hackneyed and glorious at the same time.

A motivated ensemble of completely daft dilettantes also manages to turn this dramolet into a grandiose failure. There are stumbles and mistakes, the doors jam and one or two of the performers have to contend with minor alcohol problems. Actors who can only do their lines poorly, wobbly sets and the most insane mishaps leave the highly motivated troupe of cucumbers in no doubt about their acting mission. And so the dark drama about Doctor Jekyll's hellish potion turns into a highlight of the true art of acting.

The open-air site is located in the northern part of the park, near the Orthodox church, right next to the memorial obelisk of the Rothschild Palace. Access via Sebastian-Rinz-Straße coming from Miquelallee or via August-Siebert-Straße coming from the city center.
