"The World on Wheels" is a documentary film by Felix Rudolph about just that - a world on wheels, self-contained and yet open, but above all in motion. The world of COMOEDIA MUNDI, a tent theater that has been bringing great theater to a small stage for over 40 years. The stage is in the tent, the home is where the wagons are and the living room is the meadow. Often mistaken for a circus, COMOEDIA MUNDI is a cosmos that most people only get a superficial impression of: A visit to the theater, a piece of cake in the cafe, a moment of wonder in passing.
As a theater technician who stumbled into this special circle of artists, dreamers and doers more or less by chance, filmmaker Felix Rudolph accompanied filmmaker Felix Rudolph accompanied the inhabitants of this world with his camera for a year and was given the opportunity to really get to the heart of this idiosyncratic project. project. In addition to the here and now, the two-hour film also delves into the colorful and wild history of the last four decades. The film was nominated for the VFF Producer Award at DOK.fest Munich - Germany's largest documentary film festival - in 2024!
