From the soundtrack of the turn of the millennium to the musical interplay of the album "Nacht und Tag". For over two decades, 2raumwohnung have enriched German pop music with that rare combination that is usually found in chanson or bossa nova: lightness and melancholy. A fusion that has led to studio experiments and top ten hits in equal measure. Inga Humpe and Tommi Eckart can - in their own way - play on both levels. The more than one million records that 2raumwohnung have sold since 2001 speak for themselves. A respectable, countable success that has also been accompanied by three gold records, various awards and honors. This solid foundation allowed them the artistic freedom with which their seven top ten studio albums were created. Results of their independence.

Punk, New Wave and later the energy of techno influenced the two. Inga Humpe set the spirit of the eighties to music with the Neonbabies and DÖF. Tommi Eckart worked with DJ Hell and Andreas Dorau. They came together around the year 2000, initially as a studio project. 2 is the working title of a constellation that soon becomes a permanent band. Of course, it's not about guitar, bass, drums and vocals like in rock music. The term "band" leads in the wrong direction. 2raumwohnung are, if anything, in the tradition of British pop duos. Soft Cell, Yazoo, Eurythmics or Pet Shop Boys. An idea of future music in which the digital and the emotional dance together. The band principle remains minimal. A condensed affair.
