Wladimir Kaminer: The Secret Life of the Germans - Reading at the Batschkapp - 2for1-Tickets
When Germans are looking for something special and exotic, they travel to faraway countries. All they have to do is look over the fence, just turn the corner, and they would have the most incredible experiences.
Because in the middle of Germany you can find countless paradises, join in strange dances or attend a coronation. It's amazing what a secret world comes to light when you approach the Germans with such loving patience and friendly curiosity as Wladimir Kaminer does. And because he also has a special sense of humor, he observes just as many amusing and astonishing things. His stories about the secret lives of Germans open our eyes to completely unknown aspects of the country and its people.
Wladimir Kaminer was born in Moscow in 1967. He trained as a sound engineer for theater and radio and then studied dramaturgy at the Moscow Theater Institute. He has lived in Berlin since 1990. He regularly publishes reviews in various newspapers and magazines and organizes events such as his now internationally famous "Russendisko".
