Stereolab is a British rock band formed in London in 1990. The band originally consisted of Tim Gane (guitar and keyboards) and Lætitia Sadier (vocals, keyboards and guitar), who remained the main drivers and constants throughout the many changes in the line-up. Stereolab is counted among the representatives of post-rock and plays an experimental mixture of pop, rock and electronics. The band's sound is characterized by the contrast between powerful organ chords, mostly in Farfisa sound, and the female, slightly off-key English or French vocals. Stylistic elements ranging from easy listening to psychedelia and krautrock also come together.
