Organ matinée with Hans-Berhard Ruß - in Frankfurt Cathedral - 2for1-tickets
The monthly 30-minute organ matinées at lunchtime in the Imperial Cathedral have become firmly established in Frankfurt's musical calendar. Organist Hans-Bernhard Ruß from the Augustinerkirche in Würzburg plays on the cathedral organ with its 116 stops and around 9,000 pipes, making it the largest organ system in Hesse. Ruß studied church music at the Staatliche Musikhochschule Frankfurt am Main. Courses with Wolfgang Seifen, Martin Baker (Westminster Cathedral London) and Thierry Escaich (Paris), among others, rounded off his training. He also organizes and supervises the successful organ concert series with international guests at the Augustinerkirche in Würzburg. He is particularly interested in organ improvisation and the conception of thematically coherent concert programs, with which he regularly performs throughout Germany and abroad. The program includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Carl Rütti and Pierre Cochereau.
