Max Annas: Tanz im Dunkel - Reading at the Literaturhaus Frankfurt - 2for1-Tickets
Max Annas has worked as a journalist, researched jazz in South Africa and organized film festivals. Above all, however, he writes thrillers that shed precise light on the state of our society. He has already been awarded the German Crime Fiction Prize five times, among other things for his impressive ability to "pack clever plots into concentrated, lean, gripping thrillers".

His new novel "Tanz im Dunkel" (Suhrkamp), set in Annas' hometown of Cologne, dates back to 1959 and is disturbingly topical. Unknown people have smeared swastikas on the Cologne synagogue. A young rock'n'roll fan demonstrating against rearmament is run over by a car. His friends want to see justice done. And a detective about to retire wonders about the rising murder rate in the city... Cologne noir: rock'n'roll and revenge!

The interview with the author is conducted by literary critic and Cologne and crime fiction expert Antje Deistler.
