The enthusiasm for Irish step dancing is unbroken and is expressed in a particularly impressive way in this new Irish dance show. The name of the show, "The Dancing Mad Ones", already gives an idea of how deeply rooted the passion for dance, music and song is in Irish culture. For the Irish, it seems natural to dance, sing and play - it is part of their life and heritage.

At Christmas, every country has its own traditions, and Ireland is no exception. The Danceperados of Ireland bring the Irish Christmas traditions closer with their "Spirit of Irish Christmas" tour. This tour takes the audience on a journey into this special time of year and provides an insight into customs that are unique to the Emerald Isle. One fascinating example is the "Wren Boys", a group of young men who roam the streets dressed up in wild straw hats and rag costumes and get up to all kinds of mischief. But Christmas swimming in icy seawater and the "Women's Christmas" on Epiphany, which has its roots in pre-Christian times and a matriarchal society, are also remarkable customs. During this festival, the men take over the housework and pamper the women of the house.

The Danceperados of Ireland set themselves apart with their luxurious musical performance as they are joined on tour by a sextet of some of the finest female Irish folk musicians. The choreography is by Michael Donnellan, a two-time World Champion, who brings the stories of the show to life through dance. The dancers themselves are true masters of their craft and have several dozen World Champion and All-Ireland titles in their repertoire. A particular trademark of the show is that there is no playback - everything is live and authentic.
