Opera Classica

From the "Prisoners' Chorus" to the "Tale of the Grail" - Verdi and Wagner are the two most important composers of the 19th century in the world of opera. They managed to lead this art to a new heyday with two completely different directions. Verdi's realistic humanism and Wagner's romantic myth revolutionized opera. Two geniuses who could not have been more different each created a multitude of masterpieces that fascinated people, but also polarized them at the same time. Regardless of this, both musical giants are at the top of the popularity scale for many opera lovers.

The varied program will be performed by excellent vocal soloists such as star soprano Elena Mosuc (Arena di Verona), mezzo-soprano Deniz Yetim (Staatstheater Meiningen), tenors José de E?a (Opera Holland Park Theatre in London) and Marco Antonio Rivera (Saarländisches Staatstheater Saarbrücken) as well as baritone Richard Alexandre Rittelmann (Teatro Regio di Torino). The Thüringen Philharmonie Gotha-Eisenach will perform under the direction of Helge Dorsch and Hans Friedrich Härle. The ensemble will also be enriched by the opera choir of Opera Classica Europa and L'Opera Piccola.
