"The Return from Davos" is the second opera in a trilogy about the desire for power with music and text by Stanislav Rosenberg:
The ambivalent title heroine (in both senses of the word), who in the first opera on the way to the World Economic Forum in Davos with her overbearing doctoral supervisor on the one hand and her own demons on the other, but seemingly unstoppable rise, gets into troubled waters in the second opera. A scandal about her doctoral thesis is brewing. She desperately searches for a way out. This time she has a comrade-in-arms, but without Rosenberg disregarding the laws of monodrama in the true sense of the word. Because her constant companion and co-conspirator against the rest of the world is not a person, but an AI, albeit one that is sung by a real sung and performed on stage by a real singer
Rosenberg also composed her part without any use of AI, and the libretto was written before the big hype. Nevertheless, "The Return from Davos" is likely to be the first time that AI has appeared on an opera stage. appeared on an opera stage. His composition plays merrily with post-(traumatic) romanticism, pseudo-baroque, bel canto or even offers a shaded swing number.
