Two excellent soloists from the Frankfurt Museum Orchestra Symphony Concerts also perform together as a duo and now do the honors in the chamber music series: Julian Steckel, who was last heard with the Elgar Cello Concerto, and Aris Alexander Blettenberg, who recently made a guest appearance with Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5. The program for their duo evening is stylistically diverse and ranges from the intimate atmosphere of the Kodály Adagio to the symphonic density of Beethoven's "great" cello sonata to the brilliant extroversion of the music of Grieg and Chopin, in which first the cellist and then the pianist can show their virtuoso side.
