Hotel Bossa Nova with singer Liza da Costa master the balancing act between street music and artistic aspirations, between Latin folklore and pulsating improvisation. Meanwhile, the band explodes musically in the background, but also makes the quiet and nuances of bossa nova audible. On "Trés Maneiras", their ninth studio album, the musical globetrotters once again artfully dissolve rigid genre boundaries. While not so long ago such a combination was described somewhat helplessly as world jazz, Hotel Bossa Nova no longer need this pigeonhole. Hotel Bossa Nova's music is characterized by an irresistible joy of playing and musicality.
