Magistrat der Stadt Eppstein

Rainer Dachselt's "Fire! De Maa brennt." is a play based on historical reports, biographies and interrogation protocols of the "Peinlichen Verhör-Amts der Freien Stadt Frankfurt am Main": In September 1848, the storm breaks out in Frankfurt. The insurgents almost succeed in blowing up the Paulskirche Assembly. During the barricade fight on Töngesgasse, Simon is arrested and now sits in the "embarrassing interrogation office" and is put through the wringer by Heinrich. Who made the plans for the coup? Who is to blame for the deaths of two deputies? What does Annette from Ginnheim have to do with all this? And who is Henrike, the woman with the umbrella? There are: Revolucists, reactionaries, Paulskirche deputies, committed citizens, worried Schoppepetzers and three cheeky musicians. Heinrich bites his teeth out on this case. In the end, more comes out than anyone would like - with surprising consequences.

A theater project with Michael Quast and others in cooperation with the Institut für Stadtgeschichte Frankfurt am Main. Premiered in the cloister of the Carmelite Monastery for the Paulskirchen Festival Week in May 2023.
