Winston Rodney began his music career at the end of the 1960s and attributed this to a fateful encounter with Bob Marley. They both lived in St. Ann's Parish in Jamaica. Bob said, 'Okay, just check out Studio One'." Spear recorded his first two classic albums there: "Burning Spear" and "Rocking Time". In the 1970s and 1980s, Burning Spear rocked the reggae world with acclaimed albums such as "Social Living", "Hail H.I.M." and "Resistance". His music developed further and integrated elements of jazz, funk and rock without losing its solid reggae base.
