This summer, the Frankfurt Chamber Opera is following the bon mot "Operetta yourself, who can!" After the final performance of the 1920s stroke of genius "Der Vetter aus Dingsda", the orchestra shell of the Palmengarten will be transformed into an outrageous operetta salon from the end of July, as a staged concert in a production by Rainer Pudenz.

Based on the operetta, a man travels through the comic-tragic world of women and men, inspired from afar by Federico Fellini: it's about jealousy, truth and lies, funny widows, criminal guys and the beautifully absurd decadence of love. Musically, this is brushed against the grain with just two saxophones, piano and drums, and a swing dancer dances to it. Just the thing for long summer evenings in the shade of the Palmengarten.
