Main ferry to the Advent market at Schwanenhof - between Höchster & Schwanheimer Ufer - free crossing
The Schwanenhof Riding and Driving Club on Schwanheimer Ufer invites you to its second Advent market with carriage rides, pony rides, Christmas decorations for sale, face painting and crafts for children. There will also be delicacies such as waffles, delicious mulled wine, bratwurst and chips to suit every taste. As a magical highlight, a horsey Christmas story will be performed at 5 pm.
CITY CARD holders receive a free ride to/from Schwanheimer Ufer to Höchst on the Frankfurt Main ferry.
The "Mainfähre Frankfurt" is the only bicycle and passenger ferry in the city of Frankfurt. It connects the western districts of Schwanheim and Höchst every day and is on the route of the GrünGürtel cycle path. There is historical evidence that the ferry has been in operation since 1623. In 1945, a courageous citizen sank the boat in the mouth of the Niddam, saving the ferry from destruction. After the end of the war, it was pumped empty and was able to resume ferry service. The Main ferry bears the name "Walter Kolb" in honor of the deserving mayor of Frankfurt.
