Monika Held & Gregor Praml: Die Trümmergöre - musical reading at the Romanfabrik - 2for1-Tickets
Jula is a little girl in post-war Hamburg. For her, rubble and half-built houses are normal. She plays "Der Russe kommt", "Wir bauen ein KZ" or "Opa hat sein Bein verloren". Her favorite place to be is the square where her uncle sells used cars; she does her schoolwork in the pub on the Reeperbahn. When she turned twelve, her father - who was in the diplomatic service and therefore absent - took her away to turn the "dirty brat" into a superior daughter. And Jula begins a perfect double life between the Alster villa and the Ganovenkiez. Monika Held captures all of this in dreamlike language, capturing the nuances and nuances in between.

Monika Held is a journalist and author who has worked for various broadcasters and magazines. Her reportages have won numerous awards. She lives in Hamburg and North Friesland. Together with Gregor Praml, whose double bass playing with loops and effects turns the evening into a musical reading, she will present her novel "Die Trümmergöre".
