Lady Lucie Galvaillan has inherited from her first five husbands after murdering them. Colonel John Mc Lesby, who has a penchant for rich heiresses, has been widowed for the sixth time. Inspector Peter Campbell of Scotland Yard, tired of looking for evidence, sets the two of them up to meet and hopes for good times, but mostly bad! Attracted by their respective fortunes, the two protagonists marry and forge ever new Machiavellian and ludicrous plans to get each other out of the way, much to the delight of the audience.
