Claudio Monteverdi's "Vespro della beata vergine" from 1610 is performed by the vocal ensemble of the Frankfurt Imperial Cathedral under the direction of Andreas Boltz. In addition to psalms and concerti, the "Marienvesper" includes the Sonata sopra "Sancta Maria, ora pro nobis", the hymn Ave maris stella and the Magnificat.
