He was the heart of chamber music and the soul of the Orchestra Academy. In memory of their esteemed colleague and friend Peter Zelienka, who died unexpectedly at the end of last year, musicians from the hr-Sinfonieorchester send greetings from his homeland: from the Czech grand master Antonín Dvorák. The two chamber works that will be performed are filled to the brim with the musical tradition and inexhaustible spirit of the Czech Vltava metropolis. One is ravishingly light in tone and cantabile that makes you want to sing along, the other is rich in melodic invention, lush sound, masterful form and late-romantic pathos.
